Walking
Llanelli Group of the Ramblers' Association is a friendly and active collection
of people who enjoy a varied and interesting programme of walks and social
activities. Formed in 1984, the group has seen membership soar in recent years

Pembrey Country Park - Cefn Sidan Beach
Pembrey Country Park is home to one of the cleanest beaches in Wales Cefn Sidan.
The park is 200 hectares of stunning parkland filled with natural wildlife.
Cefn Sidan Beach is the only lifeguard patrolled beach in Carmarthenshire with
lifeguards in attendance from Whitsun to early September.

National Wetlands Centre
National Wetlands Centre (Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust) is the largest international
wetland conservation charity in the UK.
Located on the Ramsar site of the Burry Inlet, WWT´s innovative centre at
Llanelli is at the front-end of wetland conservation in Wales. It´s newest
feature is the Millennium Wetland complex, home to wildlife as diverse as
dragonfly and Little Egret.

Parc Howard
Parc Howard Mansion is country house built by the Buckley brewing family in 1885
and set in 27 acres of parkland, now a civic park. In 1912 the mansion was given
to the town by Sir Stafford and Lady Howard who had inherited it. The museum,
park and site is now managed by Carmarthenshire County Council.

Llanelli House
One of Llanelli's most historic properties, this fine example of an early 18th
century Georgian Town house which is in a poor state of repair was bought in
1998 by the Town Council with the object of completely restoring it.
Kidwelly Castle
Kidwelly is one of the finest castles in South-West Wales, it remains remarkably
intact. Dominating a long disputed region, the strong and splendid castle
developed during more than three centuries of Anglo-Norman/Welsh warfare: a
chronicle in stone of medieval fortress technology. With its walls within walls
fortifications Kidwelly looks today as an outstanding examples of late 13th
century castle design.
